First 26.2 Miler Countdown: 62

Effectively the first day of my marathon (specific) training, but it’s just a part of the routine now. With Monday comes Monday blues and the best way to cope-up with that is to run the hell out of you. I can guarantee that either you’d be feeling good or you’be in hospital, either way relaxed 😉

Focus: Speed

This training session was with the TXR running club where I run along a bunch of (good) crazy running fellas.

Warm-up: ~1.5 k (This run on Strava)

Main session: 2 times (90 sec ON + 90 s OFF), followed by
4 times (60 sec ON + 60 s OFF), followed by
4 times (30 sec ON + 30 s OFF), followed by
4 times (15 sec ON + 15 s OFF), followed by
Total time: 20 mins. Distance covered: 4.4k (This segment on Strava)

Warm-down: Same as the warm-up

This kind of speed work enhances not only your physical but also the mental toughness and endurance. Give it a try, it’s so much easier to write about it 😀
