A trip not to forget, Kenting, June 29, 2013

Kenting is located at the southern edge of Taiwan. Its beaches are best attraction I think.

We left for Kaohsiung (nearest train station to go Kenting) at 1AM from our city. It was the best way to travel saving the money for stay and simultaneous travelling. We were six guys – Shivam, Yash, Abhishek, Sanjeev, Nathaneal and me. We reached 6.15AM at Kaohsiung.

Nathan had booked a room for us at kenting, so our first target was to find the hotel (which was actually a hostel or may be guest house). Bus station was near to the train station, so we got there and luckily got a bus for kenting pretty soon. Bus was pretty cool too.  We get down at kenting at somewhere about 9.30AM. After getting out, we checked out prices of motor bikes (we need these to roam around the coastline which is around 25KMs in total). After checking prices, we started our search for the guest house and in sometime, found it finally after asking to random ppl. It was pretty hot at that time. All the weapons that we had (caps, umbrellas etc etc) were pulled out from bags 😀

After getting into guest house, we got fresh and as we had checked the prices of bikes, directly went to the shop and all of us turned from pedestrians to a BIKE-GANG. Then we directly headed to Nanwan beach, one of the most popular and a place to have fun. Though as expected, bike was even slower than that!!! It was an electric bike nevertheless. We stopped at some random place from where we get to see the first perfect view of sea. Shot some pics there from THE GREAT SLR of Nathan.

It was a fresh feeling! We immediately asked about for water sports, and we opted for a package of 5 water sports. I wish I could have pics of us doing that. Because pictures say a lot. I can not write that experience.

Our first sport was banana boat. A guy with the jet was pulling 6 idiots sitting on a banana. Initially it was like a simple boat going in the sea. Then he stopped in the middle asking you wanna have some fun? And we were like “YOOOOOO”. He drove bit in speed and turned while driving. Well, any of us didn’t realize the physics at that time, because when it was the time for boat to turn, it was our time to FALL!! And it was completely unexpected! That is where my fear for water went down, thanks to the life jacket and obviously that moment! All the water sports were equally good, adventurous and fun! After all these, we shot some photos at the beach.

And after all this tiring job! We went back to our rooms to get some food. After it, our next destination was lighthouse.

While on the way, we stopped by at many places, out of them, one was a coral beach which was pretty good place. We found sum people trying to catch tiny water creatures such as small star fishes.

After getting closer to light house, we first headed to southern most point of Taiwan.

Here we go!

It was all pacific in front of us, quite a beautiful moment. This is how it was.

Thereafter, our friend Yash, who had a fear that his battery might go out, find it better to leave for the room. And buddy, you missed some beautiful things I bet! After it, we headed to longpan, which was suggested by one Indian family we met. And it indeed turned out to be a good place. We could see whole pacific from height. It was like a cliff from where we were watching the blue. We met a couple over there who tried to tell us about the place, actually from them itself, we confirmed that it was the place we were looking for.

After longpan, we remember about our actual target – LIGHTHOUSE! We headed for that place. While going back, four of us except Abhishek were together and apparently he took some other way that is what we thought. We tried to call him but he had left his cell at the room, so no luck. At the entrance, we met a group of local people who had started their journey to visit whole Taiwan and kenting was their first place.

Can anybody tell what is written on the banner?

One of them had a parrot, I just tried to touch it and it came on to my shoulders!! It scared me at the first moment but later it was trying to bite me 😀

After this, we left this place and on the way back, we found Abhishek who was puzzled about the way to light house. But we decided to leave for the guest house.

In the way, Abhishek’s bike battery gave up!! (Yash, you don’t know about it yet, we decided not to tell you so that you don’t get bother the next day 😀 ).  Somehow we found some good people around, and managed to call the shop from where we got the bikes and that lady(shop owner) told that gentleman that she will send somebody with a new battery towards us. After he got the battery, we left the place, and reached guest house, though I am sure all of us must be a bit scared about their batteries on the way back 😀

After it, we just visited around the night market and got our self new batteries for the next day.

Its tiring to write a long post!!
